He saw our club’s 20th anniversary celebration as a chance to inspire the entire community

 

When Andrew became president of his volunteer organization, he faced a challenge: create a jubilee worth remembering

 

Traditional wisdom said "fancy dinner" – expensive, forgettable, but offering zero value & growth

 

Instead, Andrew created FYTCCon - a revolutionary way to celebrate

 

As a volunteer organisation, all are equals, and his team worked without pay; driven purely by a shared passion with only a miniscule marketing budget of just £50

 

Would anyone even show up?

 

The risk was real - failure would be devastating financially, and emotionally

 

But the results shocked everyone

 

FYTCCon was a sellout – attracted a full house of 200 attendees – five times the normal turnout for the organisation’s anniversary celebrations

 

People travelled hundreds of miles just to be there

 

Nearly a decade later, people still warmly reminisce about this legendary event. What made it special wasn't the expensive food or fancy venues – it was the genuine connection within our community, set a new benchmark for events, and lifetime learnings from our star presenters

 

The most powerful outcome?

 

FYTCCon inspired other leaders of our organisation to think big, bigger, biggest about their own events, creating a ripple effect of innovation across the organization with similar copycat events
